When two atoms are connected their polarity can be changed, by changing the bonded atom. The binding of more electronegative atom will result in the change in the bond polarity and thus the atoms in the molecules express change in polarity.

By changing the medium of the molecule the polarity can be changed.

The polarity can be changed by adding electron accepting or donating atom in the medium.
