What is so soothing about the ocean? And why are some people afraid of the ocean?

The ocean is very calm and beautiful its so soft and the waves are beautiful especially at night.

Some people are afraid of the ocean because of probably sharks, fish, or those grass in the ground. some times they think the ocean is going to take them away i think thats a phobia.

Sounds propagates through some kind of medium. usually it's air, but it goes just as well through solid objects like walls, windows etc. a soundwave will compress the (air)molecules in front of it, and if this increased density wave hits your ears, you register it as sound. solid objects like walls are a lot denser than air, this means that they will damp a wave, but also carry it easier.
