How would someone use rhetoric in everyday life?

If you were a salesperson, or where going to sell something on ebay for example, you would use rhetoric, to persuade the hopeful buyer to buy the item you are selling since its used to persuade. it is "the art of effective or persuasive writing or speaking" hope that helps ya :)
