Why people in the northern, middle and southern colonies made their livings in different way?

Middle New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania - - - the most diverse and popuklous region, New York City & Philladelphia the most populous cities in the Colonies // // hubs of industry as well as agriculturally diverse, the most tolerant of a variety of religions //
