The word "citizen" means someone who is a member of a country or community with its duties, rights, and privileges. Therefore, a U. S. citizen is a member of the United States. There are three possible ways to become a U. S. citizen.
1.Be born on U. S. soil
2.Have parents who are U. S. citizens
