Macbeth is like the farmer because he tried to take a shortcut to achieve his goal instead of depending on hard work to evolve, the farmer tried ways to take a short cut route and it didn't work, he killed himself. Macbeth tries to shorten the road leading to royalty by killing Duncan rather than wait to naturally ascend to the throne. In the end, it led to his death, more like he killed himself.

Macbeth is also like the French tailor who is in hell "for stealing out of a French hose". Macbeth steals the throne from Duncan and also tries to steal it from Duncan's sons and Banquo's descendants.

He is also like the equivocator "that could/swear in both the scales against either scale;/who committed treason enough for God's sake. . ." . Clearly, Macbeth committed treason by killing Duncan. He is also guilty of disguising to everyone but his wife. He can "swear in both the scales" as he involve Duncans' guards in his murder and then later kills Banquo and acted like nothing happened in a bid to control the throne.
