Sea turtles can lay 50 to 200 eggs in a nest. Some eggs get
destroyed or eaten by other animals. The
n young turtles that hatch face many challenges
as they head to the ocean. They may have to
crawl over steep slopes, through seaweed,
or around obstacles. Raccoons, foxes, crabs,
birds, fish, and sharks may eat them. Given the
challenges and the data in the Math Toolbox,
write an expression and use it to calculate the
percent hatched. Use the percent to roughly
estimate the number of sea turtles from a nest
of 100 in Naples that reach the ocean safely.
Express your answer as a percentage.
