Se trataba de 13 colonias que tenía Reino Unido en la costa este de América del Norte y que, de norte a sur, eran: Massachusetts, Nuevo Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Nueva York, Pensilvania, Nueva Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Carolina del Norte, Carolina del Sur y Georgia.
