In the book on page 32-34 it also says, " It's my constitutional right to sit here as much as that lady. I paid my fair." Claudette is fighting for the people to understand that Jim Crow is not fair to all and why should she abide my a rule that only "blacks" have to follow. Claudette feels like they are should be treated equally.
