What impact did slavery have on America’s economy?

The impact slavery had on America's economy is that many people made money off of selling slaves, it made people very rich. With all cash crops of tobacco, cotton, and sugar cane, American's southern states  became the economic engine of the expanding nation.

the phenomenon that would be cited as evidence of increased economic interdependence between europe and the americas is  the development of mercantilism.

this theory suggests that the wealth of a country depends on its economic assets, or capital.
