The most significant issue with regard to the Temple Mount/Dome of the Rock is that any controversy with the

the area. In 2010, Arab scholars released a study
declaring that the Western Wall was not part of the holy
Jewish temple at all, but part of the al-Aqsa Mosque. The
US State Department called the study "factually incorrect,
insensitive, and highly provocative."
