The 5 civilized Tribes, (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole), were already civilized, though they didn't accept individual plots as explained. In 1898 the Curtis Act was put into place that amended the Dawes act to affect the 5 Civilized tribes. governments were obliterated, courts destroyed, and then all of their land was sold to white american land owners.
