Describe the steps to managing one's emotions

The first way to manage an emotion is to realize that an emotion is a temporary state, and that emotion is seperate from the self. This can allow a person to feel more powerful than, or detached from the emotion. A person may also use breathing excercises. Don't try to control your breathing, just pay attention to it. When the mind wanders, focus back on breathing.
