(5 Marks) China has many qualities. Among them the greatest quality is that like other arms producing countries, it is not the trader of arms. Pakistan is good friends with China, due to which China and Pakistan help each other in all matters fearlessly and selflessly. China is not only trying to be self-sufficient in producing heavy arms defending foreign invasion but also does not want to see Pakistan dependent in this field. Only in the recent past, a project called CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) was started to ensure a transformation of Pakistan’s economy, and alongside connecting the deep-sea Pakistani ports of Gwadar and Karachi to China’s Xinjiang province and beyond by overland routes. This would reduce the time and cost of transporting goods and energy such as natural gas to China by circumventing the Straits of Malacca and the South China Sea. Numerous other countries have also shown interest in participating in the initiative.
