Fall

Fall, which is also called autumn, is the season when leaves change color and fall to the ground. In North America, it is also the season when kids head back to school.

The Weather

Fall begins with warm weather in September, but as the season continues into October and November, the sun sets earlier and earlier everyday and the weather becomes chilly. And so, people put away their shorts and t-shirts and take out their coats and sweaters.

The Harvest

In fall, farmers are busy working in their fields. They have to harvest their crops before the cold of winter comes. Pumpkins, big and orange are ready for making pies. Corn quickly ripens on the cob. Wine makers pick their plump, juicy, purple grapes from the vine. Scarecrows stand guard in the fields to keep the crows from stealing the crops before the farmers can gather them.
