You are going to write an essay on the importance of a loving community in the life of a human being. What does the novel suggest that people need from their communities? What qualities exist in a strong community? How do such communities help individuals or groups? How do such communities cause harm? What happens to people when they do not have or lose their community?

I think it suggest that they should come together, I mean the Greasers and Socs are so focused on their differences they don't see their deeper similarities.

The qualities I would thing is how they all come together, coming all together may bring more to the community.

Well a community is a feeling of being connected, from the help of a community is can bring people to feel loved or wanted. A community may cause harm when they come together to do a deed of bad, instead of a deed of good. When they lose, or do not have a community individuals or small groups may feel isolated, the whole point is really to be able to help of those around you and not have to do things alone.

when alex falls for the charming new boy at school, cole -- a handsome, funny, sports star who adores her - she can't believe she's finally found her soul who truly loves and understands her.  

at first, alex is blissfully happy. sure, cole seems a little jealous of her relationship with her close friend zack, but what guy would want his girlfriend spending all her time with another boy? as the months pass, though, alex can no longer ignore cole's small put-downs, pinches, or increasingly violent threats.
