They say that when a parent forces her child to go over and beyond normal expectations, he tends to push back and go the opposite direction. Tanith Carey supports this opinion: ". . . children can become rebellious and alienated when one-size-fits-all education philosophies are applied, regardless of their personality or aptitudes." However, if a parent starts at a young age and instills in the child what is expected, without wavering, he will not know a difference. It is imperative that the parent does not constantly change her mind and give up when the child complains because that is where the issues begin.
