An esp must treat 300,000 acfm with 99% efficiency.
a) for an effective drift velocity of 0.25 ft/sec, calculate the required collection area.
b) assuming the plates are 15 feet tall and 6 feet long, and are arranged with three mechanical fields, calculate the aspect ratio.
c) estimate the total number of plates in this esp.
d) estimate the cost of this esp (f. o.b. manufacturer and tic), both in 1998 dollars, then in 2002 dollars. (i_1998: = 1061.9; i_2008: = 1449.3).
e) calculate the fan power if the average pressure drop is 0.6 in. h_2o and the fan/motor efficiency is 70%.
