What's the oxidation number of CH3CH2OH?
I searched everywhere and the first carbon is apparently - 3, but it's wrong according to my teacher, and it's supposedly - 2.
Can anyone help me on how it turned out - 2? I'm scared he'll bring another question like that in the exam.
