1)mitosis is a type of division which occurs in somatic cells. in mitotic cell division diploid number of chromosomes are present in the daughter cells i.e. the cell before division into two doubles it's chromosomes.
2)mitosis is important for growth, replacement of old cells, repair and damage of existing cells.
3)prophase,metaphase, anaphase, telophase are the four phases.
