In this case, since saliva is produced in the salivary glands via clusters of cells called acini, saliva is a fluid that contains water, electrolytes, mucus and enzymes which help to hydrolize starch, lubricate and others. In such a way, as those glands produce saliva containing especially water, which come from the inner content of acini cells, such content will reveal the status of all the body's pH, therefore, it is possible to know the body's pH by testing our saliva's pH.
