Yes, the human body is an ecosystem too in the end. We have that around 3.5 kg of microorganisms inside us.Most of them are indifferent to our existence and are hitchhikers on a ride or have minimal consequences on us. Some of them want to harm us and are called pathogens. Viruses and other pathogens are dependent on our cells in order to multiply and propagate themselves. Finally, there are also vacteria that benefit us; many studies have showcased that the bacterial communities in our stomach can help prevent various diseases and also attack some invaders. In this case, since the bacteria feed on us, both parties benefit and this relationship of interdpendence is called symbiosis.
