What types of synaptic inputs can postsynaptic nerve cells receive?

The appropriate response is both excitatory and inhibitory. 
1. excitatory neurons discharge, for instance, glutamatergic neurotransmitters that dilemma to receptors in the post-synaptic neurons and triggers a positive change in film potential in that neuron. 
2. inhibitory neuron discharge, for instance, g-Aminobutyric corrosive (GABA) neurotransmitters that ties to various sorts of receptors in the post synaptic neurons and triggers a negative change in the film potential
