The crust of the Earth is differentiated from the lithosphere as the crust signifies towards a compositional layer, while the lithosphere is a mechanical layer, that is, the solid layer close to the surface of the Earth. The crust primarily comprises alumino-silicate minerals, while the lithosphere comprises some of the solid parts of the upper mantle, that is, majorly ferromagnesium silicates.
