How to ecosystem services affect human sustainability

Ecosystem services play important role in human sustainability. Ecosystem services include provisioning,regulating, supporting, and cultural.

Provisioning include production of food and water which is one of the essential requirement for human survival and provided by ecosystem in the form of plants or other animals. No food means no human life.

Regulating may include the control of disease and climate.Humans at different regions are susceptible to particular temperature and diversity in Climate provide required atmospheric condition for human survival. Climatic changes causes global warming which bring many diseases and temperature fluctuations that affect human sustainability. Diseases decreases human population and affect human susceptibility so ecosystem controls the diseases that increases chance of human survival. More diseases with no medicine may result into high mortality rate.

Supporting, such as oxygen production and nutrient cycles are important factors that support human sustainability because nutrients provide energy to humans to do work and oxygen is must for their living.

Cultural involve recreational and spiritual benefits. Recreational and spiritual benefits include regulation of physical and mental health and social interaction with  other people  that keeps a human healthy and happy for living a good life.

Hence, ecosystem services promote and affect human sustainability.
