dna replication is a process by which dna makes its own copy. in the process dna double helix separated into the two single strands of dna. the two separated strands will act as templates for making the new strands of dna. on each dna strand one new strand is formed having complimentary bases.   the two resulting dna molecules thus have one parent strand and one new replicated strand. in this type of replication one of the strands is conserved, so, the replication of dna is semi-conservative.
