If you are a hearing person, you might have not been aware of this, but there is actually a ‘sound etiquette’ that we follow as well. These practices usually stem from common sense (don’t slam the door, don’t talk over each other) to basic decency (don’t slurp your soup). However, sound etiquette (similar to any type of etiquette) might change from culture to culture. Identify some of the major ‘sound protocols’ present in the hearing world and give a brief explanation (one or two sentences) as to why such practices are followed or encouraged and when it’s instead considered okay to ignore such etiquettes.
