Ang Kawayan
Kabilang sa pamilya ng damo ang kawayan. May mga kawayan na matataas na kasintans
ng puno. Maaari itong tumubo sa pntag o burol. Iba-iba ang uri nito gaya ng kawayang
tinik, bolo, kiling at iba pa.
Maraming pinagsagamitan ang kawayan. Ang pangunahing gamit nito ay ang paggawa ng
bahay. Ang magulang na bahagi nito ay ginagamit bilang haligi at sahig ng bahay. Ang tinistis na
kavayan ay pinagkakabitan ng bubong dingding at sahig ng bahay.
Ginagamit din ito sa pangingisda at pagsasaka. Iba-ibang panghuli ng mga isda ang
pinaggagamitan ng kawayan. Ganoon din ang mga magsasaka ginagamit din ang kawayan sa
pagbabakod ng kanilang mga pananim.
Ginagamit pa rin ang kawayan sa ibang pamamaraan. Maaari din itong gamitin sa paggawa
ng mga laruan, mga kasangkapan sa bahay gaya ng kama upuan, mesa at mga kagamitan sa
pagluluto gaya ng sandok at iba pa.
