i did an assignment for spanish where i answered the questions, but my teacher said that i need to use the same verb in the question in my answer. she also said that the questions have to be answered in spanish in complete sentences using the preterite tense.
can you correct my answers and explain what preterite tense is?

2. ¿qué programa miraste en la televisión?
vi la aventuras de sarah jane.
3. ¿qué música escuchaste?
yo escuchaba a la música pop.
