Las tortillas de maíz son consideradas una de las comidas principales de México y los países de Centro América. Se hacen combinando harina de maíz, agua, aceite y sal para hacer la masa. De ahí, la masa es aplanada y se le da forma a mano o usando una tortillera de tortillas. La masa de las tortillas es cocida después en un comal (disco de barro o de metal) o a la plancha.
