In the second sentence we have the inverse case. This means we should look for an infinitive form in order to find the right indirect object pronoun. Here it's the verb comprar and we have comprarles - to buy them. We dissociate the pronoun and place it in front of the conjugated verbal form. It is very important to know that the pronouns are put in front of conjugated verbs. This way the correct alternation would be: les quiero.

3. Clara is going to sell her French literature books to her friend.

The same action should be performed as in the last sentence. First and foremost identify the infinitive form: venderle. Dissociate the pronoun from it: le. Find the conjugated verb: va. Place the pronoun in front of the conjugated verb: le va.

4. The clients can pay us with a credit card.

This last alternation to be performed is similar to the first one: we must identify the indirect object pronoun (it should be placed, as we can now be sure, in front of the conjugated verb): nos pueden pagar.
