Aclaim that is consistent with the facts as we know them should be regarded as hero course

I believe the answer is:  probably true but not necessarily true.
This type of thinking is being done in order to keep an open minded framework to allow potential new knowledge/information to come in.
Keeping this mind framework would prevent us from being trapped in biased opinion.
