Harry S. Truman, the 33rd president of the United States, spoke about two different ways of life in one of his doctrines. These two ways of life pertain to the two most popular government systems-communism and democracy. Democracy was characterized by a representative government, free institutions, and according to the people's will. Meanwhile, Communism was a government system in which the will of the minority takes over that of the majority.
