The Confederates were the Southern states. They supported slavery unlike the United States constitution. Remember, the Confederates separated from the US hence why both of these constitutions existed at the same time. So therefore the answer cannot be the first one because they embraced it. The answer cannot be that they did not address it because they claimed slaves as 3/5 of a person as well as saying that nobody could interfere with someones right to slaves.
