The Amygdala is involved in our experience of emotion and tying emotional meaning to our memories.

Amygdala is responsible for processing individual emotions or feelings and how the emotions are perceived by such individual.

In the brain, amygdala is a section that is responsible for fear detection and preparing for emergency occurrences.  

Amygdala is an almond shape area of the nervous tissue, which is located in the temporal lobe of the brain.  An individual usually have two amygdala and each side of the brain is having one amygdala.

Amygdala are believed to be part of limbic system inside the brain, which processes or responsible for memory and emotions. Though the linking up of the amygdala and limbic system has been strongly debated with the view that amygdala functions independently of the limbic system.  

Amygdala deals with the perception of emotions, which include anger, fear and sadness. It controls aggression. It also helps in the storage of events memories and emotions so that an individual can be able to identify related events in the future.

For instance, if an individual had a dog bite, amygdala processes the incident and thus boost such individual fear or awareness about dogs. The amygdala size is significantly associated with physical conduct and increased aggression.
