If a researcher conducts a study to compare the effects of two treatments to reduce anxiety, treatment is a(n) variable.

The answer is dependent variable.  It is something that depends on other factors. For instance, a test score could be a dependent variable for the reason that it could be altered contingent on several factors such as how much you premeditated, how much sleep you got the night earlier you took the test, or even how starving you were when you took it. Typically when you are looking for the link between two things you are attempting to look for what creates the dependent variable alter the way it does.

in general the theory of economics says that the more open to trade a country is the better   the result for the same country and the whole economies.

in real life countries impose taxes, quotas, etc which is not so good for the economies.

this kind of commercial war between the usa and china is slowing down the growth of the whole world so we can say that it is a draw back of trade regulations. and the free trade agreements are benefits of trade regulations.
