The human body relies a lot on its senses to comprehend the world and the environment around it. One such sense that is vital to us is taste. Taste is a sense that depends on chemicals dissolved in the air, and other substances, to comprehend what is around us. Once our sense of taste captures a chemical presence it will rely information to the brain, who will form a response accordingly.

An example of how taste works is when we take oral medication. When the components dissolve on our tongue, our nerve endinds fire information towards the brain letting it know that the taste is not good, and responses will come along.

In this way, also, environment plays a very important role, because an environment that is plagued with chemical components in it may confuse the messages sent to the brain, and give the wrond impression. So for example, if you are at a dinner, and you take a sip of water from the glass, but this water does not taste good, or if the air is charged with smells you do not like and you can almost taste those, then you might lose your desire to eat, or drink. Also, the brain will store that as memories, so that in future, you will associate things. In the future, then, you may not wish to drink water again because you remember that taste from before and your reactions to it.

This is just one of the many examples that show how environment can affect the sense of taste.
