Confucius was an innovator rather than a transmitter. He  innovated by placing traditional ideas in a new light, by  selecting that which was relevant and discarding anachronistic aspects. He encouraged gentility, the social superiority as demonstrated by manners, behavior, or appearances.

Today our materialistic attitude is rooted deep into our self worth and feeling of success. It changes our perception of democracy from being a way to secure rights and liberties into having fewer limits on what we obtain, measuring each other by what we have and responding harshly and insensibly to those who disagree with us.

Confucius' position in the history of Chinese  education is evaluated by examining the historical impact  of Confucius on the culture and education of China, he taught nobility and civility. I truly believe if Confucius were alive today his view on our modern political system might confuse him. Civilians opinions on respectability of certain political members waiver at times, I believe Confucius wouldn't understand the system and could honestly educate and try to convince/ persuade others of the benefits of gentility and intellectuality.
