Pollution is a problem in both the United States and Canada. Burning fossil fuels is the main reason for pollution. People in both countries burn fossil fuels to get energy to run homes, cars, and factories. Many people believe that energy with little or no pollution should be used. One such energy is solar energy. It uses sunlight to turn heat into electricity. Another kind is wind energy. Wind is used to move machines that make electricity. Hydroelectric power is another kind of energy that uses falling water to produce electricity7. How are solar energy, wind energy, and hyrdroelectric power alike? A. They cause little or no pollution.
