It is actually true that around 50,000 rainforest species go extinct every year.
Those species may refer to small insects that scientists still don't even know about, or types of bird, or some other animal - however, that number is quite correct, unfortunately. Many species, especially those found in rainforests, disappear fast, and we cannot seem to help them.
