What are some of the challenges that prevent society from fully embracing altered states of consciousness?

Some ideas:

The war on drugs has stunted the development of certain substances, such as LSD and Marijuana, to be researched to their full potential; for example MDMA is barely undergoing clinical trials for PTSD.

Masculinity in society, which shuns vulnerability.

Corporate culture, through employee subjugation and mass media sway, instills conformity of thought in negative ways.

Religion, which has served as the cornerstone of education and order in many ways, has also manifested as an engine of conformity.

You can drink laxative, or  do this exercise when you are sitting in the bathroom on the toilet. to relieve  constipation  fast or in about 1 minute, pinch your nose after your usual exhalation. start holding your breath. but do not mouth breath during this just hold your breath.
