in my opinion, what influences what products are being sold and purchased depends on what is trending. Certain brands have increased product price due to increase in popularity which affects the economy. The economy depends on sales therefore it is in the economy's best interest to constantly sell what is popular or what is most likely to peak the interest of the majority of consumers. hope this helps :)
