The kibbutz has been a voluntary form of collective farm in Israel since the early 20th century, where all property was shared and income was shared equally. Attempts have also been made to eliminate the traditional nuclear family and to raise children collectively. The ideological basis of the kibbutzim was Zionism and socialism. Today, owning personal property and different salaries is also common in many kibbutzim, and the collectivist spirit of the early days has somewhat weakened. According to this original idea, the means of production, income and children are the collective property and the principle of equality applies.
