primary sources are ones that are first hand. An example is a court reporter. They are there and they heard it with their own ears. A secondary source is information that is handed down. An example is a journal article that does an analyst of a primary document. Another example of a secondary source is someone who hasn't been to france, spain, or Africa, but they have hear stories of other people's accounts.
