Natives working as slaves in the Spanish silver mine. s of colonial Mexico, from De Bry Note:Europeans shifted the economies from farming feudal systems to Mercantilism, that promoted policies that exploited people for labor and extraction of precious minerals such as gold and silver. These policies allowed for colonization and favorable trade that forced colonies to buy primarily from the main country. These policies often led to war between European countries and resentment from local native countries.
