Why would American Indians and mestizos in Mexico support Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla’s message?

The message that Hidalgo have the Indians and Mestizos called them to retaliate against the hatred gachupines or native Spaniards who had exploited and oppressed Mexicans for ten generations.
