The region had a variety of religions some including the Quakers, mennonities, lutherans, dutch calvanists, and presbyterians. Since there were so many religions, the middle colony used this as a way to promote more people to settle, proving to be a more religiously tolerant area, more people were encoouraged to settle there. The middle colonies also had fertile soil and good climate, another motivation for colonists.
