The writers of the Articles wanted ___.

A strong central government, but it ended up giving more power to the states. therefor their was no central government and the people didn’t have to pay taxes (endless they wanted to) this lead to the government being finically poor and then about 9 or so years later the Constitution came along with established a strong central government and the rules and laws we abide by today. :)
