Oracle bones were shoulder blades of animals which were also known as a dragon bone. They would draw symbols on the bones and fortune tellers use them to tell the future. Most of the oracle bones came from the Shang Dynasty and fro Zhou Dynasty. Fortune telling was a big part for them to make decisions and not only for kings but everybody used it regularly. After that oracle bones weren’t used as regularly. The areas of the bone work shops were neglected and unused with the new dynasty. The Zhou Dynasty used other methods of telling the future, such as I-Ching which used hexagrams and yarrow sticks.
