In this lesson, you learned about problems faced by Americans during the Second Industrial Revolution and what people did to overcome them. One solution, the Social Gospel movement, relied on people volunteering their time and effort to improve social conditions for others. Today, there are many people who volunteer their time to help society at places like soup kitchens, hospice houses, and boys and girls clubs.
